Kids learn about Vietnam
As the weeks rolled by, Manos programs were chalk-full
of different cultural activities. Students spent a 4 week
session learning about Vietnam. They made Vietnamese
hats, and played games native to Vietnam. They learned

You'll get a lot of NO's, but someone will say YES.
As an organization that is completely volunteer run, Manos has always been grateful for its donors, and has
never been shy in asking. As one volunteer put it, "all they can say is NO, and you move on to the next person."
We pride ourselves on our members who take it upon themselves to share what we do with others. It's been
through that kind of sharing that Manos has received more support---because someone out there said "yes." On
that note, another opportunity has rolled around for Manos members to show their colors by sharing the latest
news about MPPs (Manos Program Partners). Manos is looking to individuals, families, and businesses to
support a program. You can click here for details and then head out to share. Remember, you'll get a lot of NO's,
but someone will say "Yes!"
- For the holidays, instead of gifts, Volunteer Maria Peguero has asked her
friends and family to give a donation to Manos in her name.
- Yummy Boba Restaurant (of Artesia, CA) has given their hand in
supporting Manos by placing a donation box at their counters. If you'd like to
place a donation box at your business, please send an email to
yon@manosinternacional.org
- In China, Shirley Yang has adapted the $1month donations to China by
asking for 1Yuan a month, where a little goes a long way, and every penny
adds up!
- Long time volunteer, Alvin Leu opens first ever Barbershop / Street wear
boutique, Rosewood Royale, and adds a Manos donation box to help out.
In October, children of Ping Shan, China enjoyed their very first Manos Camp.
Ping Shan was just recently added as a second site for Manos Programs in
China and this small mountain village was a buzz with excitement.
The 2-day camp called "Walk the World II" brought the U.S., Mexico, Cuba,
and Vietnam to the pint-sized explorers, teaching them language and culture.
They also had a chance to represent countries in a series of competitive
games. Finally, international unity prevailed as the camp ended in food and
festivities. A first time camp for new Manos kids and a kick off to more
exciting Manos activities---kids and volunteers alike are looking forward to
the year ahead. Click here for more photos from Ping Shan.
how to count to 5 and various aspects about Vietnamese culture and history. Children
were also given the opportunity to learn on their own, with informational movies, books and
packets. In China, the Vietnamese embassy donated several educational pieces in Chinese
for the Manos library. In Mexico, the session ended with a cultural party, where kids had a
taste of traditional Vietnamese food, music, crafts and games. The next 4-week session
has already kicked off with lessons on Colombia at all Manos sites world wide. Click here to
