Volunteer founded and volunteer led, Manos Internacional is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-governmental organization providing educational programs to children living in poverty around the world. We were founded in 2001 and established as a registered non-profit in 2005.
Manos means "hands" in Spanish, and is signifcant to the hearts and minds of our volunteers who believe in lending a hand in any way possible. A common saying among our volunteers is "Do what you can, when you can." You can view more about how it all began on our videos page.
Today, Manos serves more than 2,000 children and volunteers through educational and cultural programs that include English language classes, sports activities, arts and crafts, summer camps, field trips, educational sponsorships, cultural exchanges, and much more. We aim to inspire children to continue to educate themselves so that they can be stronger, healthier, and achieve brighter futures. Breaking the cycle of poverty requires dedication and hard work. Manos Programs bring opportunities in education and inspire children and volunteers to learn and achieve!
Why?
Because we believe education is the key to better world. Through the sharing of cultures, ideas, and education, the children we serve can better understand themselves, the world they live in, and the people they share it with. And, with a better understanding, today's children will create a better future.
